Our Events Industry is full of so many interesting and inspiring people, none more so than Craig Hancox. With a background as a chef, Craig is the perfect person to whet our appetites and talk about event catering.
We have all attended or planned numerous events, and what is one thing we always remember and comment on… the FOOD! Without realising it, the food and drink we are offered at an event is just as important as the event itself.
In Craig’s earlier career he worked a number of hotels where he learned what it took to deliver the highest levels of service. Craig later went on to become Head of Catering at Coventry City Football club’s Highfield Road Stadium before joining the ICC (International Convention Centre, Birmingham) team in 2004.
It was here at the ICC that Craigs’ passion for food, good wines and ‘best in class customer service really shone through. Craig leads his busy team, providing award-winning catering to more than 350 events each year. From high profile events such as the Conservative Party Conference and international conferences to small meetings for just a few people and many banqueting events, it is fair to say that Craig has to cater for a variation of guests.
In 2018 Craig and his team won the prestigious Catey Award for Health & Nutrition for the Focus food menu (which promotes the importance of nutrition in mental health and well-being).
